Who We Are…

Square Root’s primary focus is to serve the landscape and garden needs of those who truly wish to engage nature in their outdoor spaces while maximizing their functionality. Our company objective is to connect clients to functional and engaging outdoor atmosphere that can be appreciated and enjoyed.

Any outdoor living space of value starts with a well thought plan. We put emphasis on asking questions and fielding necessary site input that optimize a space’s potential. We understand the importance of leaving open lines of client communication and correspondence over the duration of any project. We work in a manner that optimizes this experience.

A Little About The Owner…

I have been creating gardens for as long as I can remember. My journey started on a small farm on the far edges of Chicago suburbs as a teenager. After acquiring a design degree and many years in landscape construction, project management, design, I have been proud to apply skills from these experiences and formed Square Root Garden Design. In my spare time, I enjoy the great outdoors, traveling, cycling, and enjoying just about any genre of music you can probably think of (enjoyed preferably outdoors). I look forward to the opportunity to work with you to create your dream-space!

"When my husband and I purchased our multi-unit, one of the first things we wanted to change was the front and back yard landscaping. The existing gardens were very one dimensional and we wanted a space that was low maintenance but also emphasized the local flora and was still a welcoming environment for entertaining. Square Root was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Jason immediately understood our vision and wowed us with potential landscape design ideas to enhance our property. He incorporated a variety of elements including gravel, artificial turf, pavers, privacy trees, and custom built wood features. The garden is designed to be enjoyed year round with plants that shine in a fall and winter landscape in addition to flowering perennials. Jason sourced a variety of beautiful plants including some unexpected gems such as the three columnar "tulip trees" named for their tulip-like blossoms. The multi-talented Square Root crew were meticulous about getting each measurement perfect. This company was a dream to work with and we couldn't be happier with the results."
